Sonoma County Barrier Awareness

Active since 1987, this affiliate organization is best known for producing Barrier Awareness Day, an interactive event that dramatizes the obstacles faced by people with disabilities. Behind the scenes, the organization builds relationships with employers to identify and eliminate barriers to equal opportunity in the workplace. Their Barrier Buster Award is presented for achievement in raising public awareness of disability issues in Sonoma County.

Education and Training

The Mayors' Committee can arrange educational outreach about the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Windmills Training to interested employers and organizations.
