Sonoma County Barrier Awareness

Active since 1987, the Sonoma County Mayors' Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities produced the Barrier Awareness Day, an interactive event that dramatizes the obstacles faced by people with disabilities. Behind the scenes, the organization builds relationships with employers to identify and eliminate barriers to equal opportunity in the workplace. The Barrier Buster Award is presented for achievement in raising public awareness of disability issues in Sonoma County.

Education and Training

The Mayors' Committee can arrange educational outreach about the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Windmills Training for interested employers and organizations.
